Charitable activities and community engagement are a vital part of life at Fettes and one example of this was this weekend’s thrilling event. A group of especially brave Fettesians took part in the Fourth Rail Bridge abseil event.
The challenge involved a 165ft free-fall abseil from the Forth Rail Bridge onto the beach below which our Fettesians undertook with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. The atmosphere was incredible with music and applause from the supporters and spectators and once we landed on the beach without a hitch, the sun came out and we celebrated with ice creams.
Our team raised an amazing £4296.30 for the Rock Trust, an Edinburgh based charity supporting homeless young people who we already work with on an annual basis attending their sleep out each year. Well done to all those involved and for your fantastic achievement!
