As our students look towards their future and think about life after Fettes, we offer consistent support to help them make informed decisions. The Sixth Form is a crucial stage in preparing their portfolio of achievement and note their interests and skills which will enable them to adapt to the challenges of a changing world of work. Our careers team encourage students to choose Sixth Form courses that are broadly relevant to their specific future career intentions and we use Morrisby Tests to indicate the general direction they may wish to take.
Each student’s career journey is entirely unique and we assist them in making their career decisions, comparing universities, gap-year opportunities, apprenticeships and other training. We share in-depth advice and career specific insights as well as encouraging them to keep an open mind and explore all avenues available to them.
We have worked for a number of years with Mrs Spens (former member of staff at fettes) who helps us to offer wrap-around careers guidance service by conducting one to one careers guidance interviews. Mrs Spens helps students find a degree course and explore and inspire career options.
At Fettes we only work with qualified and experienced careers advisers to ensure that our students receive the very best advice and guidance available. Only then can students be truly empowered to make the right choices and take advantage of the amazing opportunities the world beyond Fettes has to offer.
