The Autumn Concert took place last Thursday, at which the School was able to enjoy listening to a snapshot of things that have been taking place in the Music School this term.

The Concert Band and Jazz Bands played some famous film music and well-known jazz standards to open the evening. It was followed by the String Ensemble playing Warlock’s “Capriol Suite” and some themes from Star Wars. The Brass Ensemble dazzled us with some Gabrieli before Larry W and Risako T brought a super first half to a close with Shostakovich’s Concertino for two pianos.

After the interval, the Chapel Choir beautifully sang three motets by Anton Bruckner - Ave Maria; Locus Iste and Christus Factus Est - before bringing the evening to a close with two of the big Choruses from The Creation.

It was a superb evening which really demonstrated the strength and depth of our musicians at the moment.
