The Governors of the Fettes Trust are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Charles (Charlie) Minogue as the new Head of Fettes College Preparatory School; succeeding Adam Edwards, who has been Headmaster at the school since 2003. Charlie Minogue will take up his position in August 2022.

Charlie is an inspiring leader, whose ethos and values are closely linked to those of the Prep School. He will, in collaboration with the Head of College, Helen Harrison, and the Prep School’s Senior Leadership Team, build on its current success, staying true to the school’s core values whilst moving it forwards to a bright future.

Charlie Minogue is currently Head of Moor Park School in Shropshire where he has spent a very successful six years and previously taught at both Aldwickbury School and St Paul’s Cathedral School. Charlie was educated at Wellington College and has a BSc (Hons) in Biology from Newcastle University, his PGCE from York University and a MEd in Education Leadership from the University of Buckingham. He is a keen musician, having been a choral scholar at Newcastle Cathedral and a professional singer in Edinburgh while Lay Clerk at St Mary’s Cathedral. Charlie has a wide range of interests and experiences and is a keen hillwalker, backpacker, ski-mountaineer, climber and runner. He is married to Rebecca, and they have a son and daughter. 

Adam Edwards will continue to provide strong leadership for Fettes College Preparatory School, as he has done throughout his tenure as Headmaster, until his retirement at the end of August 2022.
