In September 2025, at five years old, Ottilie D will make history. She is set to become one of the first pupils in the new Fettes Pre-Prep and will be a member of the inaugural class joining ‘the Hive’ – as Fettes College heralds in a new chapter, with the opening of a Pre-Prep within the Prep School (for children from age 4.5 years).

Being the first at Fettes runs in her family, as Otti’s Grandma was also the first girl to attend Fettes College, when Fettes became co-educational over 50 years ago.

As one of the children who have secured a place for September, she and her family visited Fettes on Saturday 1^st February for the latest ‘Stay and Play’ session. During this session she and her Grandma, and older sister Isla, who is also joining Fettes, were photographed enjoying their visit and walking in the grounds with Charlie Minogue, Headmaster of Fettes Prep.

Charlie Minogue said, “We are very excited to introduce the new Pre-Prep facility, for children from 4.5 years of age. This is part of our Prep for Life vision which was launched in June 2024.

“This new dedicated facility provides play-based learning with a rigorous approach to developing core academic skills and a unique approach to embedding empathy and kindness. Set within our existing Prep School and with access to 100 acres of secure parkland, woods, and outdoor areas, it’s a perfect environment within the city for young learners to grow and explore.”
