2022 International Baccalaureate Diploma Results

On Tuesday 6th July, the 2022 International Baccalaureate Diploma results were released bringing excellent news for the 49 members of the Fettes Upper Sixth Form who have been following the IB pathway for the past two years.

The IB provided some adaptations for the 2022 cohort, however grades were determined through external examinations for all students for the first time since 2019.  The IB has continued to flourish at Fettes and the cohort scored an impressive average score of 37 points, matching the cohort of 2019.

A third of all candidates gained 40 points or more whilst 51% of the candidates gained or exceeded a score of 38 points.  Maria W, Elliot W, Leila F, Fergus B and Sophie W deserve a special mention for achieving an impressive score of 43 points, with Kate C scoring an exceptional 44 point with 7,7,7 at Higher Level.

In addition, two students -William K and Alice P - achieved bilingual diplomas.

At Higher Level, 70% of all grades were a 7 or a 6, whilst the equivalent figure at Standard Level was 60%.

Throughout the last tumultuous two years, our IB candidates have shown incredible resilience and maturity.  Every student should be proud of their efforts and celebrate their hard work and commitment to academic excellence. We are delighted that so many of our students have secured their first choice of university. Whatever their next steps, we ask them to remember the skills they have learnt at Fettes and embrace all future opportunities in the knowledge that we are always here to support them.
