2019 Academic Results

Fettes College is very pleased to announce the combined results of our 2019 A Level & IB examinations:

21% A* at A Level or 7 at IB

56% A*/A at A Level or 7/6 at IB

83% A*-B at A Level or 7/6/5 at IB

As Fettes College offers a choice of curriculum in the Sixth Form, only by combining all the results from both curricula can we truly reflect the achievements of our pupils across the board. These results are testament to the fact that by offering both the IB Diploma and A Level pathways, we play to the strength of all of our pupils. They also reveal the commitment and determination of our students as well as the dedication of our staff.

We have already published the success of our IB cohort after the results were announced in June and the full report can be seen here. You can also view 2019 GCSE results here.

Today, we are very pleased to report that our A Level cohort has gained an impressive set of results with 75% A*- B grades. There are many outstanding individual achievements included among them.

These results have translated into university entrance success with the majority of applicants securing their first choice institution including places at Cambridge, other leading UK universities and significant success at top USA universities, this year including Harvard and Princeton.

“We were already very proud of our leavers of 2019 for the many accomplishments they achieved throughout their time at Fettes. These results confirm that they have also performed very well academically. It is really important to state that there are many successes to be celebrated at all levels of ability but it is appropriate to single out Ava P for achieving the highest possible score of 45 in the IB and Aidan H, Cleodie K, Jasper Z and Harry M for gaining a full set of A*s in their A Levels. We wish every leaver all the very best for the next exciting phase of their lives.”
