1st XI Girls Football V Strathallan

On Tuesday, our girl’s football team played Strathallan at home. Strath dominated possession for the first few minutes, but were quickly intercepted by our fantastic midfield players and led to our first spectacular goal by Abi T. This injected the competitive spirit into both sides and soon tensions were high when Strath pulled back a goal towards the end of the first half and Fettes had a near miss penalty.

The girls were feeling confident going in to the second half, with Strath conceding an early penalty meaning Fettes were 2-1 up with 20 minutes to play. A brilliant shot on target by Strath pulled the game up to the 2-2. The pressure was on for both teams in the final ten minutes of the match, but ultimately ended in a draw.

A thoroughly exciting and competitive first match of the year for the girl’s football team.
