The team for the annual end of term cricket festival were the youngest group to have taken part, the only year group not represented being the Upper 6th, who in the past have represented the majority of our team. Despite our lack of experience, the boys managed to win one t20 match against Monkton, after losing to the hosts in a spirited performance. The other matches against St Pauls, and The Leys were a bridge too far against very strong opponents, but the Fettes boys left a strong impression on and off the pitch and displayed great sportsmanship.
Highlights were in abundance, and saw a fine partnership of 67 between David D and Harry M rescuing our innings against Monkton; David H and Olly N's classy 90 run stand in our t20 win and Nick S's 7 wickets in the festival. Sam W and Harry M became the youngest ever pair to open the batting for the College 1st XI, and Hood concluded the festival with an outstanding unbeaten 50 v The Leys.
A hugely enjoyable trip wonderfully hosted by Monkton in beautiful surroundings with some fantastic weather. Great effort boys!
