FAQs | COVID-19

WHEN WILL FETTES REOPEN?

The Summer Term has started at Fettes College & Fettes Prep and although we are not physically open, all students are now Learning From Home.  Given the dynamic nature of COVID-19, we will continue to monitor the situation and follow all government guidance given to us.

I AM INTERESTED IN SENDING MY CHILD TO FETTES, CAN I STILL BOOK A VISIT?

Although visits are not currently taking place, we want to ensure that you have all the information you require before your child joins us. Our website has a wealth of information and beautiful films to give you a flavour of Fettes life and Skype calls can easily be arranged for you to speak to our Admissions Team. Please simply contact them with any queries you have - we look forward to welcoming you to Fettes in the future.

Safe COVID School

Fettes is a Boarding Schools Association Safe COVID School and we have signed up to the BSA Charter. We follow the principles within the Charter as well as adhering to guidance from the Scottish Government and as required for our own school risk assessment. Full details of the Charter can be found here.

What Distance Learning measures do you have in place?

When it is not possible for students to be present on site for long periods, Fettes is committed to ensuring the quality of its education provision is maintained. Our teaching staff and their students are using our Learning from Home policy that uses a variety of techniques to ensure the excellence of our learning and teaching is maintained. Students and staff remain in daily contact both from an academic and pastoral point of view and we are working hard to keep the Fettes sense of community apparent as we believe it is central to all that we do.

What does Learning from Home mean?

Our students, with guidance and advice from teachers are working to a published schedule and completing  work within specified timeframes receiving prompt feedback on all work submitted.  Students have received tips and guidance regarding their academic studies, physical health and wellbeing as well as a wealth of community projects to keep everyone connected and thriving. HOW WILL FETTES COMMUNICATE ANY NEWS OR UPDATES?

We are in regular contact with our parents, staff and students via Schoolpost throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and our current parents should therefore ensure they check their SchoolPost emails regularly. This page will be updated as required, prospective families can continue to contact our Admissions Team and our Alumni can contact the Old Fettesian Coordinator.

We also have a vibrant, daily posting of news on our website and social media channels which are perfect for keeping up-to-date with everything taking place at Fettes: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @fettes.college
