On Tuesday 7th March, fifty students chose to discover more about careers with creativity, technology and entrepreneurship.  We were joined by 10 members of the Fettes community who represented a diverse portfolio of experience, each with a unique career journey to share. They worked in film, animation, video games, ethical journalism, media, creative agencies, finance,  venture capital, startups and sustainable energy and infrastructure.  Our experts had studied, lived and worked across the globe and several were fluent in more than one language. There was so much to find out about.

We are so grateful to everyone who supported this event with their time. Below are some quotes from the students that attended the event:

"The event was really helpful, thank you so much."

"It was so useful to see that each of the entrepreneurs had had a different start and that studying something you enjoy at university is so important."

"Everyone has to start somewhere, it is OK to change you mind and you need to fail lots of times in order to learn and to develop."

"One expert offered sound advice: learn to write well, think critically and have an international perspective and make time to read."

The Fettes Career Partnership Career Insight events are all informal, giving students the opportunity to practice networking skills as well as ask lots of questions to help them to formulate their own ideas about their future paths beyond school.  If you would like to participate in a future event or support the Fettes Career Partnership programme, please email fettes.community@fettes.com
