Fixtures Results
Hockey at Fettes is played by girls in the Winter Term and by boys in the Spring Term. Both boys and girls run nine teams in the Senior School and three eight-a-side teams in the Prep. School.
The teams train three or four times a week and play competitive matches against other schools and clubs. The girls‘ 1st XI are recent holders of the Apis Cup. Last year‘s boys‘ team enjoyed an excellent season, winning six of their eight matches and scoring an average of four goals a match.
We run regular coaching sessions for players and goalkeepers with specialist coaches and have occasional guest coaches for outfield players, e.g. Barry Cibbach (a former men‘s Olympic hockey coach). Our top players are nominated for East District Trials each season.
Fettes frequently undertakes UK and internationaltours. The Prep School have played in Northern Ireland and the North of England, and some of the Senior School teams have travelled to Paris, Holland, Barcelona, South Africa Japan and Australia.
