Sharing Facilities
The school shares sports and other facilities with local maintained schools and with members of the general public. These include a public health club, use of all-weather pitches, playing fields and meeting venues.
Recent examples of shared use include:
- SRU use pitches for U16 and U18 district level training as do the Scotland U18 squad.
- The SLA makes use of our facilities for training.
- Westwoods (our leisure and sports facility) is used by local sports clubs for a variety of purposes.
- Scottish Saltires have used our cricket facilities.
- Edinburgh Netball League and Lothian Basketball League use our facilities.
- There are annual cricket and hockey camps.
- Inverleith Spartans use our pitches.
- The Local Primary Sports Association uses our grounds.
- The Chapel is used by the Sir Malcolm Sargent Cancer Choir for rehearsals.
- Our facilities are used for a national Summer Croquet competition.
- The swimming pool is used by outside clubs.
- The Upper is used by USA universities as a SAT centre.
- Fettes College is used as a centre for external examinations.
- Lothian and Borders Police have the use of our facilities for receptions and award ceremonies.
- Film students use our facilities.
- Charities use the buildings as a venue for fundraisers.
- An annual Jazz Festival is held
- Our facilities are increasingly advertised and used as a venue for weddings.
- Youth Music UK holds an annual event.
- An Antiques Fair is held on an annual basis.
- Over 600 overseas participants attend annual residential English Language Schools.
- A Teeny Ball is held annually for teenage children.
