The standards of our education are reviewed against national benchmarks, and the attainments of our pupils exceed those benchmarks. At A Level, the pass rate was 100% (84% of passes at grades A and B) and at GCSE, the pass rate was 97% (62% of passes at grades A and A*). The school was placed amongst the top schools nationally in league tables measuring performance at A Level.

In 2006-2007 our top sportsmen and women join national and district squads for

Boys: rugby, hockey, cricket, athletics, swimming, fencing, shooting and squash
Girls: hockey, lacrosse, athletics, swimming and fencing

Music
Musical highlights included public concerts for choir, orchestra and smaller ensembles in Edinburgh.

Art
Private and public exhibitions of student work are held throughout the year.

Drama
The school stages at least 6 plays each year.
