Welcome to Arran House, full time boarding for boys from 7 to 13 years old, where we are proud of our house spirit and have a tradition of caring for others.

A wide range of opportunities

As well as running Arran House, I look after the Prep School Science and Outdoor Pursuits. Along with a dedicated team of house tutors, I ensure that all of the boys have the chance to experience a wide range of opportunities outside of the academic curriculum as well as supporting the challenges within it.

Term-time highlights

One of the highlights of our term is the ‘Arran Challenge’ which brings the whole house together in a challenging event designed to instil a sense of camaraderie and teamwork whilst showing the boys what they can do when they put their minds to it.

Friendly and encouraging atmosphere

As well as fulfilling exciting challenges and weekend activities, Arran boys live in an atmosphere of friendliness and encouragement in Fettes' idyllic and extensive grounds in the heart of Scotland's capital city. Their academic, musical, dramatic, artistic and sporting achievements are fostered by all house staff.
