Pentlandia macroptera (Traquair)
This dipnoan of a small to medium size (although few examples are known of specimens over 30 cm) was the most common fish in the Eday Flags. We do not know much about its toothplate structure, but most likely it will resemble the toothplates of Scaumenacia from Escuminac Bay, the same locality Eusthenopteron foordi has been found in great numbers. Its diet is still very speculative.
