The Iron Lady
On Tuesday night the Political Society went on an outing to the Omni Centre to see the controversial film ‘The Iron Lady’, which looks at the career of Mrs Thatcher through the lens of a forgetful retirement. Students of Government & Politics A level study the impact of Thatcherite ideology on conservative thought, and Mrs Thatcher is also one of a number of 20th century prime ministers who feature in the A level Modern History syllabus, so the evening was not just about entertainment but had real value in bringing classroom learning to glorious technicolour life. Miss McDonald kindly organised this interesting and enjoyable addition to our activities, and our thanks go to her for a great night out.
