Team Building
After a hard session of rugby the Moredun boys returned to house only to find the Lower Sixth waiting patiently with a box of eggs, a pile of newspapers and a folder reading Team Building on it. At first no one was sure what to make of the situation but once we were split into groups and told what to do, we were all raring to go.
The challenge was to make a landing pad out of sellotape and newspaper which could stop an egg from cracking when dropped from the top floor of Area. After ten minutes of brainstorming and hard work all three teams were ready to go. The first drop was from the height of the second landing floor and amazingly all the eggs survived. The second drop was from the banister height. Again to every one’s surprise the eggs survived. Finally there was the drop from head height. The first egg missed the landing completely shattering on the floor, the second egg hit the landing but went through and shattered and the final egg hit its pad perfectly getting away with just a small crack.
Overall I think everyone enjoyed the task and it was a success in the fact it made people who would not normally work together co-operate. Many thanks to the Head of House, Balthazar, and Deputy Head of House, Geordie, for running this activity for us.
