Prep Matches v Ardvreck
Our glorious Westwoods Sports Centre witnessed some tremendous netball on Wednesday afternoon. The U13Bs played outstandingly well and notched up 23 – 2 victory against Ardvreck. Ardvreck hit back in the A team game with an impressive performance. The Fettes 1st V11 played some fluent netball but couldn’t match the all-round strength of the opposition.
Out on the Sutcliffe the boys 2nd X1 held on to a brave victory despite facing a battery of thirteen short corners in the 2nd half. The 1st X1 started their season with a draw against Ardvreck but would confess that they were not at their best. There is little doubt that Mr Russell’s positive coaching will see them improve.
Away at Ardvreck, a sleepy final quarter cost the U11 V11 victory but the U9s registered an extraordinary 15 – 1 demolition of a promising opposition side. The U9s promise that they will not become complacent. The U11 hockey had a mixed afternoon. The B team fought back from 3 – 1 down to record an inspiring 6 – 4 victory. The A team made a lethargic start and were 4 – 1 down at half time, they began to show their true colours in the 2nd half but it was too late to recover against a tough opposition – they will learn their lesson!
