Prep Girls Netball Round-up

Prep Netball

The teams headed off in the mini buses with excitement and apprehension – looking forward to all the afternoon held in store for them. The U11’s took the match in their stride with fantastic passing from the entire team, who were quick to find spaces up and down the court and held good possession of the ball. Strong play from Lucie and fantastic scoring from Annabel saw the score at 1-0 to Fettes at half time.

After a short break the team came back fighting harder than ever for a win. Despite tireless defending from Kirsty and Cara, Kilgraston managed to score a goal – leaving the two teams neck and neck. The play continued and after determination and enthusiastic team work the final whistle saw Fettes take the lead with a score of 3-2. This win has given the U11’s great confidence for the term ahead.

The U13’s approached their match with trepidation. After the Christmas break they had only had a short time to practise together as a team and with Kilgraston as their fist match of the term, they were nervous as they stepped onto the court. Both the A and the B matches saw the teams fighting hard for possession but sadly the final whistle saw a loss for both teams, with the U13 A team losing 0 -14 and the U13B being defeated 0-4. Both teams felt they had learnt a lot from their first match and agreed that they will be training hard for their next match to secure a worthy win.
