Olympic Torch Ceremony at Castle
On a late Wednesday evening the T and 1st form boarders met in the Jordan’s playground to go to the castle to see the arrival of the Olympic Torch. We got in the coach and headed up to the castle and were directed to our seats.
The celebration of the Olympic flame started with a young group singing some incredible songs followed by the Samsung breakdance group who came on to tell us more about the Samsung Hope Relay app that you can download on smart phones before giving us a phenomenal display of street dancing, followed by the Coca-Cola crew. Straight after that Emeli Sandé sang four songs which was brilliant.
The Olympic Torch was carried into the castle esplanade and they then lit the cauldron, thrilling spectators. It was an astonishing event and we would like to thank Mr and Mrs Dawson, Miss Russell and Mr Morrison for giving up their evening to make this opportunity possible; it was a once in a life time experience!
