National Lacrosse Championships
This was the first time the Fettes 1st XII Lacrosse Team had attended the National Championships instead of the National Small Schools Tournament and it was a totally different experience.
Friday: We had a great performance on the first day against some very strong schools; we defeated Claremont, Bradfield and Charterhouse. These were some of the best games we've ever played; working well in defence, midfield and attack. Against tougher teams such as Wycombe Abbey, we worked extremely hard, constantly pressuring the ball; playing at such a high level really upped our team performance. Our strong performance on the first day put us in the 2nd division for Day 2!
Saturday: This was an extremely tough day because we had performed so well the day before; we drew 3, lost 2 and won 1 however ALL of our losses were narrow losses and like the day before, we worked extremely hard.
During the weekend, we were pushed as a team and as individuals and we really upped the standard of our performance; hopefully we can use the weekend as a platform for further progress. Everyone performed extremely well with Emma W and Tara K performing exceptionally in their respective positions.
