Latin Day 2011
The eagerly anticipated Latin Day 2011 took place on Friday with over 100 visiting classicists from 6 UK Prep Schools: Ardvreck, Belhaven Hill, Craigclowan, Fettes Prep, Mowden Hall and St Mary's.
Once again, they were enthused about all things classical including learning the skills of the Roman Centurions, sampling a traditional Roman feast and solving Latin clues to uncover a wealth of golden coins (chocolate of course). Storytelling from a professional storyteller and a Roman play rehearsed with our Head of Drama surprised and informed too.
The Gladiatorial Vocabulary Challenge was a tense finale to the day with Jake O of Ardvreck victorious in the Level 1 competition and Sonya R of Fettes Prep winning the Level 2 competition. Well done to the other Challengers; Miles K of Ardvreck, Bridget S and Rosie F of Belhaven Hill, Maddie G of Fettes Prep and Morven L and Ava N of St Mary's, .
