Iona Charity Afternoon
We wanted to do something for the older people in the community so arranged to perform a talent show to residents at the Murrayfield House Care Home. After a lot of rehearsing we set off and when we arrived were directed up some stairs to a room where we had to wait for a while. Then, S Form handed out programmes to the people watching.
Next we all entered and Maddy and June did a great job introducing the acts which were: 1st Form singing “I’m a Believer”; then Elena singing “Halleluia” beautifully. T Form performed a short play of Cinderella; Francesca sang “Where is Love?” and Scarlett, Catriona and Pippa danced some ballet. Juliet and Andrea played a piano duet and June played a lovely piece on her flute. Scarlet, Maddy and Juliet sang “Sunrise, Sunset”; and then 2nd Form read out a brief history of Walt Disney and the whole house sang some Disney Songs.
After the performances, we had the chance to talk to the people there and have a biscuit and something to drink. On the behalf of Iona House we would all like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Heuston, Miss Russell and Mr Dawson for taking us and helping, Mrs Dawson for helping with the rehearsing and a particular thank you to Mrs Masson for the rehearsals and accompaniment.
