Arniston Music Round-up
This year has been a very successful and exciting year for Arniston, in terms of Music, Art and Drama. To begin with, Arniston House has contributed significantly to the Musical aspect of the school.
Six members of Chapel Choir, namely Sophie B, Karen K, Arabella H, Tilly D, Freddie P and Grace R, are Arnistonians, and have been part of some excellent concerts, and have a been an key part of Sunday Chapel. Many more Arnistonians are in Concert Choir, who also shone at both the Autumn and Spring Term Concerts this year.
Another musical member of Arniston is Sarah-Jane S, who, in her last year of Fettes, is Head of the Orchestra, who produced some outstanding pieces at the two main Autumn and Spring Concerts this year.
This year, Arnistonians have also taken part in several school musical competitions, firstly the Inter-House Singing Competition. This was incredibly enjoyable, with Arniston signing both the hymn ‘How Shall I Sing That Majesty’, and the ensemble group also performing avidly and with traditional Arnistonian spirit, although we, unfortunately, did not win any prizes.
Also musically, in the Piano Competition this year, Alley E came highly commended in the Intermediate Class and Karen K, Angie Y and Mariota S were in the Final of the Instrumental Competition. Sue-Zhen Y and Alley E have also organised all the exceptional coffee concerts this term, which have happened most Friday afternoons.
