Arniston House Academics

As usual, year groups and individuals have led the way with their intelligence this academic year. Members of Arniston House have been going from strength to strength in the world of orders with continuous improvements in the both attainment and effort grades.

However, despite being the largest house group in their year, the 3rd form continuously manage to string together top sets of results to gain them first position in the house competitions. Each of the other years has also been doing well in the competitions with positions ranging from 1st to 3rd place but with noticeable improvements made at every order.

It was all go in the Spring term and in the first orders of 2010, Karen K, Amelie G, Caitlin H, Sarah B and Kathleen O’S managed to successfully land top of the efforts table with straight alphas with numerous other Arnistonians just missing out on the full set.

These individuals stayed strong throughout the term with even more receiving straight alphas in the second academic orders of the term.

Arniston also had numerous entries in the 2010 Maths Challenge in which quite a number of bronze certificates were awarded with Ally De H receiving a silver certificate and Dina A receiving the gold. However it was Jetty Z that took the spotlight in this event as she not only received a gold certificate but won the prize for ‘Best in School’ which is an outstanding achievement from a 4th former.

Overall it has been a very strong academic year for the House and with any luck it will continue to excel in the future.
