Fettes can offer an airport transfer service to its pupils who are registered with the airline with whom they are travelling as unaccompanied minors (UM’s). The service includes the pupil being collected from school and escorted to the airport by a member of staff known to them, usually a matron. The member of staff will check the pupil in with the airline and then wait with the pupil until they are taken by airport staff to board the plane. The member of staff then remains at the airport until the plane has left the runway.

When the service is used for a return journey to school the parents or guardian and child will be informed who will be waiting for them upon arrival at the airport. The member of staff will then sign for the pupil and escort them back to school. 

The cost of the service is currently £25 per journey and is added to the school bill.
