Head of Girls’ Games & T Form Tutor
I have taught in a variety of schools in the UK, my previous appointment was at St. Catherines’s, Bramley, Surrey. Although I am secondary PE trained, I have spent half of my carrier teaching primary PE and games.
During my 20’s I taught part-time and represented GB in cross country, track and road running. My biggest achievements being:- 1st female in Britain to break 70 minutes for the 1//2 marathon, finishing 6th in 1986 Commonwealth Games in 10,000m, finishing 4th in the London Marathon (1988),representing Great Britain in the marathon in the Seoul Olympics (finished 12th), finishing 6th in 1986 Commonwealth Games in 10,000m and representing Wales and GB in the World XC Champs on 4 occasions.
Married to Geoff Wightman also an ex international runner and Managing Director of UKA Road Running, I have 3 children Jake and Sam (twins) and Martha, all who attend Fettes. I love teaching at Fettes in every aspects but especially as the children are so attentive and well behaved, and the staff are also well behaved and great to work with!
