Cricket
Cricket continues to flourish at Fettes, with seven teams regularly participating in fixtures. A steady stream of our boys achieve district and international recognition, and we are glad to enable talented cricketers to take up places in the new regional academies.
Highly experienced coaches
We are very proud that a high percentage of our cricketers continue playing the game when they leave. Our coaches are highly experienced, with a thorough understanding of the game and the young players in their charge. The programme of fixtures stretches our top teams while allowing all our players to gain match experience.
Annual cricket festival
Our 1st XI plays in an annual festival at the end of the season against English schools from The Leys (Cambridge), Monkton Combe (Bath) and St.Paul’s (London). In addition, the under 15s have been involved in a mini festival with Oundle School and local sides in the Wansbeck region of North-East England.
Overseas touring
Overseas touring opportunities have also taken the boys to South Africa in 2005 and December 2009 for two excellent development trips.
Continued investment
The school continues to invest in all areas of the coaching programme, recently opening an outdoor six lane practice area to go with the indoor nets in Westwoods Health Club.
