Arniston is, first and foremost, a happy House. We want all our girls to feel at home with us to ensure success both inside and outside the classroom. Each Arniston girl brings something unique to the House and we are very proud of all our achievements.

A caring family environment

Arniston is a caring family where every girl has a role to play in the successful running of the House. Arniston girls are always there for friends who might need encouragement or support and trust and honesty are the cornerstones of our success.

Developing full potential

Arniston girls all have their own talents but they are willing to give anything a go. Each individual is given the opportunity to develop her full potential to become a confident and successful young woman in the world beyond Fettes College.

Getting the most out of Arniston

Arniston has been my home now for seven years with my husband Mark and children, James and Katharine. My door is always open to the girls and I value close communication with parents. I encourage the girls to be the best they can be in their academic, social and extra-curricular lives so that they can get the most out of their time with us.

A fun and feisty community

Arniston is a fun and feisty community with a strong House spirit and supportive Tutors and Prefects.

Making the most of opportunities

Margaret Doig, our Matron is always around to dispense TLC and hot chocolate. Our Resident Tutor, Julia Klossek guides the Third Form through their first year. We also have a great team of Tutors who meet with their tutees in the evenings and encourage them to make the most of all the opportunities available to them at Fettes.

Leadership roles

Our Head of House this term is Ailie Corbett and all of our Lower Sixth take on leadership roles to gain valuable experience and ensure the successful running of the House.
