Music
Fettes College has long enjoyed an enviable reputation as one of the premier Schools for Music in Scotland.
Music flourishing at Fettes
Under David Goodenough’s leadership, the Music Department at Fettes is flourishing and we currently have three Choirs, a Symphony Orchestra and numerous smaller Chamber Music ensembles. The renowned Chapel Choir performs every week in the College Chapel, as well as regularly performing in and around Edinburgh itself.
Fantastic opportunities
Add to these things the regular opportunities for touring, CD recordings and the wealth of opportunities which are available for musicians in Scotland’s capital city, and studying Music at Fettes really comes into its own.
Catering for almost any instrument
The Department hosts more than three hundred instrumental lessons each week, catering for all ages and almost every instrument. We have three organs which are available for students to use and two professional organists currently on the staff, which makes studying the organ at Fettes especially attractive. Each year, the College awards a number of Music Scholarships to outstanding musical applicants.
Taster sessions
The best way to experience Music at Fettes is to come and spend some time with us, and David Goodenough, or his Assistant, Charlotte Satow, will be pleased to meet prospective pupils and their parents at any time.
