We have four full time teaching staff and one full time technician.
Dr. S.A. Lewis - Head of Department
BSc Hons. University of London, PhD Zoology University of Glasgow
Doctoral thesis on heavy metal pollution in the marine environment and using seabirds as monitors of mercury, cadmium and selenium. This included extensive fieldwork on Foula, St. Kilda and in the North Sea.
Main interests in school include horse riding, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Science Society Animal Club and Book Club. Interests outside school include one day eventing, munro bagging, theatre, reading and sailing.
Mrs M. Goude

Mrs Goude has recently retired from her post as the Housemistress of College West. Her interests include animal behaviour and looking after her menagerie of pets.
Dr. R. A. Fellowes

Doctoral thesis on the neurophysiology of the parasitic nematode Ascaris suum.
Main interests in school include hockey, lacrosse, athletics, Duke of Edinburgh Award and outdoor pursuits. Interests outside school include running, cycling, silversmithing and travelling to exotic places...
Mr D. Dowey

Main interests in school include rugby, hockey, athletics and clay pigeon shooting. Interests outside school include cycling, travelling and spending time with his family.
Mrs Jean Hutchinson
Jean keeps the department running smoothly and maintains the animal room. Outside school her grandchildren keep her busy.
