Admissions Process

Visits

Most families will initially request a prospectus and then come for an individual visit. We can arrange a time that is convenient for you and your family but we would advise giving us as much notice as possible so we can guarantee your chosen date.

Coming during term time is best as you get to see Fettes Prep and/or Fettes College in full swing with students and staff going about their daily life. You and your family will have a tour of the school led by one of our pupils and then meet our Headmaster and a housemaster or housemistress.

These tours are designed to give you a real feel for life at Fettes and are the perfect opportunity to ask lots of questions. If there is a specific department you would like to see in more detail please just ask tell our Admissions Department when booking the visit.

Taster Days

To allow your child to gain a true understanding of life at Fettes, we would encourage them to have a taster day to shadow current pupils and stay overnight in one of our boarding houses.

Having the opportunity to meet some potentially future classmates, get to know the staff and facilities can be a real benefit to potential students whether considered day or boarding.

Registering your child

If you then wish to register your child for entry, we will provide the necessary forms and talk you through the rest of the process. By registering your child, we will automatically keep you updated with information regarding entry exams for your children.
