Rock Climbing

OP1.jpg

There are many opportunities to rock climb at Fettes. The majority of pupils will go to Alien Rock, an indoor climbing wall only minutes from the school. This is a safe, fun yet challenging environment where pupils can learn the basic skills required to work safely on an indoor rock face. The whole 3rd Form have a day rock climbing as part of their field week on Speyside. By Sixth Form, one of the CCF options is to rock climb which includes two field days.

This year the 1st field day was spent climbing Curved Ridge on the Buchaille, Glencoe. Two days of the French Alps Expedition were also spent rock climbing on the valley cliffs around Ailefroide in 2003.  We attempt Fettes Peak in New Zealand in 2008.
