Sport

From its earliest days, sport has played a major part in the life of Fettes College. During their time at Fettes all pupils can expect to receive expert tuition in a broad range of sports. They will have the opportunity to acquire and enhance individual skills while developing the confidence and unselfishness that come from working with others in a team, and almost all will have the opportunity to represent the School at some point in their careers. At the highest level of school sport, scarcely a year goes by without a Fettesian representing Scotland at rugby, hockey or lacrosse.

Sport at the Prep School is vibrant and varied due in part to the superb facilities offered at the school Westwoods sports Centre. The Games programme for boys and girls changes on a termly basis:

Term Autumn Spring Summer
Major Game Hockey (Girls)
Rugby (Boys)
Netball (Girls)
Hockey (Boys)
Rounders (Girls)
Cricket (Boys)
Minor Game Swimming Cross Country Tennis & Athletics

Each term we play both inter house fixtures, fixtures against various area prep schools and tournaments.  These competitive games are aimed for all abilities and age groups within the school and give our pupils the chance to experience the touring aspect of sport.  All our pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential in each sport and take on a new challenges or experience with enthusiasm.
