Ownership of a laptop rests with the parent and the responsibility for the security of the laptop rests ultimately with the pupil.

We encourage pupils to take care of their laptops in many ways. We have secure storage in Houses, including cable locks, and pupils are encouraged to give laptops to teachers to lock away if the computer needs to be left in a teaching area. We brief new laptop owners about security and we remind pupils frequently. Any pupil who is complacent about their laptop security and leaves the machine lying around faces a Saturday night detention. In the academic year 2006-2007 one laptop was lost to theft.
