Geological Conservation Review sites

Definition: GCR sites are often Sites of Special Scientific Interest identified and documented by Scottish Natural Heritage.  GCR sites are listed for , an unusually high density which reflects the special character of the Orkney landscape. A number are also Sites of Special Scientific Interest and protected and managed by statute.
